Obituary of Wilson Elrod

Mr. Wilson Elrod, age 64 passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021, in Herrington Place in Camden, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, August 12, 2021, at 12:00 noon in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Bro. Grover Westover officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Whiteville, TN. Visitation for Mr. Elrod will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home Chapel. Wilson was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. He loved visiting with family, playing pool, going fishing and found much happiness in singing. He is survived by two brothers, Jimmy Elrod of Brownsville, TN, Donnie Elrod (Bessie) of Savannah, TN; three sisters, Bettye Kelly of Brownsville, TN, Carol Kiser and Brenda Gatlin both of Colorado Springs, CO, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Ruby Mae Byrd Elrod; one brother, Billy Elrod; three sisters, Virginia Austin, Katherine Elrod, Annie Frank Wyatt and a brother-in-law, Norman Kelly. Pallbearers for the service are Cody Archer, Ricky Morris, Glenn Johnson, Bruce Staggs, Lucas Kelly, Barney Wyatt, Jason Elrod, Tony Kelly and Jacob Staggs. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Trust, c/o Dann y Watson, 1234 Hillville Loop, Whiteville, TN 38075.
