Obituary of Hazel Maness Day

Mrs. Hazel Maness Day, age 90, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021 in AHC Crestview Healthcare and Rehab Center in Brownsville, TN. A Graveside Funeral Service will be conducted Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 11:30 AM in the Zion Methodist Church Cemetery with Bro. Eddie Martin officiating. Mrs. Hazel was born April 19, 1931 to Joe and Bertha Doyle Maness, who preceded her in death. She worked in the cafeteria for many years with the Haywood County Public School System. She loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them. Cooking was a favorite hobby of hers. Hazel is survived by her daughter, Judy Cooke (Donald), a son, Steve Day both of Brownsville, TN, five grandchildren, Amy Morris (Philip), Shannon Cooke, Jonathan Day (Heather), Bridgett Day, BJ Day (Crystal), and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chambers Hughes Day, two sons, Johnny Day and David Day, two brothers, Billy Joe Maness and Charles Maness. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society, Attention, Sharolett Allen, c/o InSouth Bank, P.O. Box 879, Brownsville, TN 38012.
