Obituary of Robbie McGarity Piercey

Robbie Jean McGarity Piercey, age 69, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021, in Brownsville, TN. There will be a Private Family Graveside Service with Bro. Larry Sweeney officiating. Robbie was born on March 27, 1952, in Alamo, TN to Thomas and Mary McGarity. During her working years, she was the Office Manager for the Haywood County Health Department. She was a faithful member of the Westside Church of Christ in Brownsville, TN. She is survived by two daughters, Holly Morton (Robbie) of Brownsville, TN and Wendy Piercey of Brownsville, TN; two brothers, Ray McGarity (Barbara) of Friendship, TN and Jerry McGarity (Gloria) of Alamo, TN; four sisters, Ann Butler of Alamo, TN, Deloise Leath of Friendship, TN, Dean Simpson of Alamo, TN and Neda Rogers of Alamo, TN; one brother-in-law, Lyle Piercey (Kathy) of Milan, TN and one sister-in-law, Rosanne Davis (Mark) of Brownsville, TN, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Mike Piercey; her parents, Thomas and Mary Smith McGarity; one brother, Richard McGarity (Joyce), two sisters, Betty McGarity and Mary Jo Leath. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 or to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
