Obituary of Laverne Lowry McCay

Mrs. Laverne Lowry McCay, age 73, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. A Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN. Laverne was born on November 24, 1947, in Memphis, TN. She was self-employed as a payroll/clerical worker. Laverne loved her family and spending time with them. Some of her favorite things to do were to go to Perkins Restaurant on “Free Pie Day”, and she loved watching “The Days of Our Lives” on TV. She is survived by her husband, David McCay of Jackson, TN; four daughters, Denise Smith of Jackson, TN, Angela Marquardt of Bartlett, TN, Crystal Meck (Jason) of Brownsville, TN and Ashley Scott (Terry) of Jackson, TN; and one brother, Benny Lowry. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Ollie Redditt Lowry and one brother, Kenneth Lowry. All arrangements and services are under the direction of Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
