Obituary of John Kenneth Martin

John Kenneth Martin, age 59, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Whiteville, TN. He was born on April 19, 1962, in Haywood County to Vernon and Jessie Martin, Sr. He worked as an electrician through the years. He enjoyed spending time on his motorcycles and riding 4-wheelers with friends. He enjoyed taking care of his buddy, Tim Tims. He also took care of his son, Dill and his dog, Harley. He is survived by his son, Dillion Martin of Stanton, TN; three brothers, Thomas Martin (Beverly) of Dancyville, TN, Edward Lynn Martin (Marie) of Brownsville, TN, and Bobby Martin (Sandy) of Somerville, TN; two sisters, Dorothy Tackett (Chris) of Stanton, TN and Lou Qualls of Whiteville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Martin, Sr. and Jessie Marie Elrod Martin; two brothers, Vernon Martin, Jr. and Robert Earl “Shorty” Martin; one sister, Margaret Ann Martin. All services are under the direction of Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
