Obituary of Peggy Jane Shelton Kendrick

Mrs. Peggy Jane Shelton Kendrick, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at the Bells Nursing Home in Bells, TN. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at 1:30 PM at the Zion United Methodist Cemetery, with Bro. Dennis Neenan, officiating. She was born on April 3, 1939, in Jackson, TN, to Elmer Lee and Etta Pearl Shelton, both who preceded her in death. She loved spending time outside and found great joy working in the garden. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was very involved in the life and ministry of Bethel Church in Haywood County. She is survived by her husband, Bill Kendrick of Brownsville, TN; two daughters, Kathy Blount of Jackson, TN, Vicky Nelson (Jerry) of Gadsden, TN; one stepdaughter, Shelia Strickland of Brownsville, TN; two stepsons, Mark Kendrick (Dale), Kenny Kendrick (Dede), both of Brownsville, TN; one brother, James Shelton (Joan) of Monterey, CA. She leaves the legacy of seven grandchildren, April, Nick, Daniel, Caleb, Will, Carol and Amber, and 10 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers for the service are Nick Blount, Daniel Osborne, Caleb Kendrick, Will Kendrick, Doug Kendrick and Brian Kendrick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 4825 Trousdale Drive, Suite 220, Nashville, TN 37220. All arrangements and services are under the direction of Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
