George Carl Cathey, age 89, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 in the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be conducted Saturday, November 13, 2021, 5 to 7 PM in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Mr. Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Leneal Cathey, his parents, Robert and Minnie Spry Cathey, one son, Carl Wayne Cathey, three brothers, Bud Cathey, Silas Cathey, Daniel Cathey, three sisters, Ruby Cashion, Frances Fry and Maxine Davis. He is survived by two sons, Randy Cathey, Brownsville, TN and Brian Cathey, Columbus, MS, three grandchildren, Brandon Cathey, Craig Cathey, Misty Long and three great grandchildren, Steven Jennings, Megan Burns and Madison Cathey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, c/o Mary Frances Trottman, 1805 Rudolph Rd. Brownsville, TN 38012. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
