Obituary of Jo Ann Simpson Castellaw

• Jo Ann Castellaw, age 88, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 19, 2021 at her home in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, November 22, 2021 at 2 PM in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Bowers, and Bro. Eddie Mallonee officiating. Burial will follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held Monday, November 22, 2021, 1 PM to 2 PM in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home. Jo Ann loved her family, her church, Brownsville, and the Lord. She taught Sunday school for decades, enjoyed reading and singing-especially her favorite hymns. She served her community working for the TN Department of Human Services for 33 years followed by 13 years at the Brownsville Funeral Home. She is survived by her husband Billy Castellaw of Brownsville, TN, his children Regie Castellaw, (Kim), Kevin Castellaw, (Sonya), Jennifer Hutchins, (Hutch); her daughter Debbie Watridge Gordon, (Houston), three grandsons Baker McCool, (Allison), Blake McCool, (Caroline), and Nathan Gordon, (Juliette). She also leaves nine great grandchildren, many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews, and their children. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents Roy Earl and Zelma Simpson; three brothers, J.B. Simpson, Leland Simpson, and Roy Junior Simpson; two sisters, Emma Lee Stewart and MaiBelle Duffey. Dorothy McCommon is her only living sibling. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to the Gideons International, P.O.
