Obituary of Ronnie Witherspoon

Ronnie Witherspoon, age 76, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021, at his residence in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 2:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN, with Bro. Bob Connerley officiating. Burial will follow at Allen Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Ronnie was born on December 4, 1944, in Martin, TN to the late Roy and Mary Witherspoon. He served his country in the United States Navy. He married his wife, Mary, on December 16, 1972, celebrating 48 years of marriage. He worked as a supervisor for Overnight Transportation. He was a faithful member of Brownsville Baptist Church. He also loved camping and cooking in his spare time. He found great joy in cooking his favorite gumbo for his family. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived his wife, Mary Witherspoon of Brownsville, TN; one sister, Sue Ann Galey (George) of Germantown, TN; one brother-in-law, Jesse Jacocks (Melanie); three sisters-in-law, Susan Miller (Jim), Jean Wills, Anne Bridgewater, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers for the service are Charles Driver, Kyle Jackson, John Wills, Justin Jacocks, Dustin Pritchard and Lovely “Cheezy” Thomas. The family has requested memorials be made to Holtinternational.org or to the Brownsville Baptist Church, 5 N. Wilson Ave., Brownsville, TN 38012.
