Obituary of Scott Barker

Scott Barker, age 60 went home to be with his Jesus on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. A Memorial Service was conducted Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 3 P.M. at Christ Church of Brownsville. The burial was private.  He worked in Real Estate in Brownsville. “Big Daddy” as most of his friends called him, enjoyed fishing, cars and especially cooking for his church and the public. He had the restaurant “Big Daddy’s” for some time here in Brownsville. He was always fun to be around and knew how to make everyone feel welcome. He will be greatly missed by many.  He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Everett Barker and his mother, Jean Hindman Roberts. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his sister, Barbara Barker Buie (Kenneth) Whiteville, TN, a brother, James Barker, Brownsville, TN, his step father, William Roberts, Jr., Scotts Hill, TN, three nieces, Katlin Buie, Elizabeth Lovelace, Debra Barker Byrd, a nephew, James Barker, Jr., (Courtney), three great nieces, Raegan Baggett, Millie Lovelace and Mary-Neil Lovelace.  In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Lea and Simmons Funeral Home toward the funeral expense.
