Obituary of Arthur Franklin Rivers, Sr.

Mr. Arthur Franklin Rivers, Sr., was born on December 7, 1954 to Jordan Rivers, Jr. and Mary Holmes Rivers. He departed this life on June 1, 2018 at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis, TN. He was a faithful member at the St. James C.O.G. I. C. to the end. He was preceded in death by his mom, Mary Holmes Rivers, his father, Jordan Rivers, Jr., one brother, Keith Rivers, also two daughters, Latangela “Shea” Rivers and Lavanderious “Denise” Rivers and one granddaughter Jada Lychell Rivers.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Angela Rivers, eight daughters, Talisa (Joseph) Springfield, Adrienne (Dennis) Murphy, Temeka Rivers, Tequitta Rivers Bell, Palmetra (Courtney) Douglas, Kimberly (William) Bell, Kristen (Steve) Gray, Chelsea (Tylus) Currie, five sons, Arthur Rivers, Jr., Donnico (Lacey) Rivers, D’Quarte Rivers, Sr., Jerry (Angela) Prewitt, Daryl (LaKenna) Henderson, four sisters, Dora (Larry) McGill, Elaine Rivers, Audrey (Gary) Bradley, Rosalind Williamson, three brothers, Orlando (Sheila) Rivers, Kenneth Rivers, Jerome (Sheila) Rivers. Also cherishing his memories, thirty-three grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 12:00 PM in St. James C. O. G. I. C.  with Pastor James T. Gray officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Memorials are requested to St. James C. O. G. I. C., 1928 Qualls Road, Stanton, TN 38069.
