Obituary of Robert L. Barden

Mr. Robert L. Barden, Sr., age 89, passed away, Saturday, September 29, 2018 in the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home with burial will follow in the Brownsville Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be Monday, October 1, 2018, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home.  Mr. Robert served his country in the United States Navy and a faithful member of Holly Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha L. Roberts Barden, his parents, Walter L. Barden and Daisy May Hendrix Barden, one son, Thomas Kelly Lomax, two sisters, Wilma Tippett Gallaher and Louise Autry. He is survived by his wife, Betty Robison Barden, Brownsville, TN, one son, Robert L. “Bobby” Barden (Sheree) Collierville, TN, daughter in law, Evelyn Lomax, Brownsville, TN five grandchildren: Jonathan Barden, Blake Barden, James Lomax (Katie), Kelly Lomax (Steve) and Thomas Stanley, four great-grandchildren: Molly Lomax, Tracey Lomax, Reece Lomax and Wesley Lomax and many honorary nieces, nephews and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Holly Grove Baptist Church, 8488 Poplar Corner Rd., Bells, TN 38006.
