Mr. Jerry E. Parker, age 85 passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in the Crestview Healthcare Center, Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 19, 2019 in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Mr. Jerry retired after 47 years as an inspector for the TDOT Engineering Department. He served his country in the United States Army and the TN National Guard. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church, loved watching UT football, working in the yard and working with leather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Thedbert Parker and Collice Boggs Parker, three brothers, James Parker, Billy Parker, Cecil Wayne Parker and one sister, Margie Parker Thorpe. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nina Langley Parker, Brownsville, TN, two sisters, Mary Parker Lampman (Larry), Chattanooga, TN and Betty Parker Veazey (Gene), Milan, TN and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Zion Baptist Church, 1733 Upper Zion Rd. Brownsville, TN 38012, The Gideons, P.O. Box 544, Brownsville, TN, 38012 or American Cancer Society, c/o INSOUTH Bank, P.O. Box 879, Brownsville, TN 38012.
