Obituary of Mary Virginia Leath

Mary's Obituary Mrs. Mary Virginia Leath, age 88, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011, in Crestview Health Care & Rehab Center, Brownsville, TN. Virginia was a member of Zion United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, served as a teacher, and held various offices within the church. She worked at Bradford Elementary School before its' closing and she finished thirty years of service as a teachers' aide at Anderson Grammar School. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband: Elbert James Leath; an infant son: Jimmy Lee Leath; her parents: Claude Ray Griffith Sr. and Lillie Belle Stein Griffith of Tipton County, TN; three brothers: Dalton Lee Griffith, Claude Ray Griffith and Lewis Edward Griffith. She is survived by two sons: Jerry Wayne Leath, (Judy) and Michael Claude Leath, (Tamila), all of Covington, TN; one daughter: Teresia Ann Leath Cox, (Bill), Brownsville, TN; one sister: Lillie Maye Smith, Covington, TN; seven grandchildren; Dr. Jared Ryan Leath, (Jenny), Memphis, TN, James Rodney Leath, Memphis, TN, Chuck Leath, (Gia), Bells, TN, Kristen Marie Leath, Brownsville, TN, Walt Cox, (Rebekah), Gainesville, GA, Rebekah Ann Cox and Jennie Downing Cox both of Brownsville, TN and two great-grandchildren: Sloan Leath, Bells, TN and Stormie Gray, Brownsville, TN. Visitation will be held in Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes Chapel, Brownsville, TN, Monday, May 9, 2011 from 5-7 PM. Funeral services will be held in Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes Chapel, Brownsville, TN, Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Larry Kendrick officiating.
