Obituary of Martha Nell Parker

 On Thursday, September 19, 2019, Martha Nell Thomas Parker, age 84, went home to be with her Savior and Lord. She joins her husband and all her Zion Baptist family, along with many other Haywood County friends and family. She was a hard worker and held jobs with the telephone company, the bank and retired from the Brownsville Utility Dept. where she worked for many years. She loved gardening and especially playing the piano. She loved music and had a very extensive album collection in which she treasured. She served as a pianist for the Zion Baptist Church for many years. She taught Sunday School, very active in the WMU and served in many other capacities in the church. She truly enjoyed being the pianist for the “Do-Right” Family, a fictional family comedy group, that performed at many Zion Baptist Church festivities. She was a devoted wife and mother, providing a loving, Christian home grounded in love for the Lord and Biblical teachings; and for that, we are truly grateful. She is survived by her only child, a daughter, Valerie Parker Dotson (Randy), Union City, TN, and three grandchildren in which she adored, Carlie Dotson Malone (Clint), Jackson, TN, Parker Dotson, Nashville, TN, and Maddie Dotson, Memphis, TN, one brother, Franklin Thomas (Regina), Brownsville, TN, two sisters, Helen Jane Thomas Tapler (Vince), Jackson, TN and Marilyn Thomas Sullivan, Brownsville, TN, along with several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, William David “Billy” Parker, her parents, Everett Leslie Thomas and Beulah Kate Joyner Thomas, one sister, Vera Mae Thomas Boeskool, one niece, Tara Boeskool and one nephew, Charles Everett “Chuck” Sullivan.

Her Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. in the Zion Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Brownsville Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be Tuesday, September 24, 2019, 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. in the Zion Baptist Church.
