Obituary of Peggy Smith Hooper

Peggy Smith Hooper, age 88, widow of R.W. “Rocky” Hooper, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019 at Crestview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Brownsville, Tn.

 

Her graveside funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 12:00 PM, in the Oakwood Cemetery in Brownsville, Tennessee. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 10:00 until 11:45 AM at the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home.

 

She is survived by two daughters, Betty (James) Escue and Rhonda (Widow of Dennis) Evans. She leaves four grandchildren, Katrina (Joe) Ellis, Matthew Shearon, Joshua (Lauren) Shearon, and Bradley (Bridget) Evans. Her great-grandchildren are Katie Ellis, Katelyn Evans, Josie Shearon, Ayden Ellis, Addison Shearon, Raine Shearon, Breyden Evans, and Caroline Shearon. She is also survived by her sisters, Rebecca (Jimmy) Morris of Brownsville, Nancy Fair of Gordo, Alabama, and her wonderful caregivers, Maudine and Gabrielle Hines.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Rebecca Ross Smith, her sister, Dorothy S. Huffman, and brothers, Billy M., Sam, and John Smith.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Westside Church of Christ, 3235 Hwy 54 W, Brownsville, TN 38012.
