Please share a memory of Nita to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ounita “Nita” Taylor Whitten Warren, 90, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 21st, 2020. She was born March 12th, 1930 to Searcy and Roberta Taylor who preceded her in death, along with a brother who died at a young age. For 23 years she was the receptionist at American Air Filter, retiring in June of 1992. While working there she met a fine gentleman, Clark Warren, whom she married in 1984. They enjoyed ten years together til his untimely death. Mom loved traveling and would just take off on adventures and maybe call when she got there, but not usually!! Also, she enjoyed her weekly Tuesday Rook game with her card playing buddies. She would never miss special occasions or holidays with family always bringing her delicious chocolate pies. She was faithful to her beloved church, Providence United Methodist Church of which she was a member for many years. Left to cherish her memory are two children William Lynn (Eli) Whitten (Linda), of Brownsville and Debbie Whitten Pendergrass (Glen), of Jackson. Granny is survived by four grandchildren, Bryan (Sabrina) Pendergrass of Augusta, GA, Taylor (Betsy) Pendergrass of Jackson TN, and Jay (Kari) Pendergrass of Jackson TN, and Kristi (Jason) Taylor of Brownsville TN; along with ten great grandchildren; Mary Taylor, Brady, Shepherd, Harry, Elizabeth, Ruby, Pate, and Claudia Jane Pendergrass, and Anna and Brett Blackwell. We are extremely thankful for the loving care of moms excellent caregivers Cardetta Boyd, Shelia Atkins, and Beanca Neal. Y’all are loved and so very much appreciated! A private graveside service will be held Wednesday March 25th at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund in care of Alton Williamson, 821 Providence Road, Jackson, Tennessee 38301.
