Obituary of Matthew Ryan Walker

Matthew Ryan Walker, age 26, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2020, in Ripley, TN. Matthew was born on March 19, 1994. He worked as a crop consultant for Helena Chemicals in Ripley, TN. He is survived by his father, Daniel Walker (Tracey) of Ripley, TN, his mother, Markeeta Walker (Brad Hughes) of Johnson City, TN, paternal grandparents, Dan and Carol Walker of Ripley, TN and maternal grandmother, Carolyn Miller of Kingsport, TN. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Lester Arnold. Matthew loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also liked to wakeboard and snowboard. He was very adventurous and always enjoyed a challenge. He was a true friend that would always lend a helping hand when needed. He was very outgoing, never met a stranger and always left a lasting impression. Matthew was a truly special person that could make everyone smile with his enthusiasm for life. He was our social butterfly. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a small service will be held for the family only. A larger celebration of Matthew’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made through the Mississippi State University Foundation and designated to the University Scholarship Fund in Matthew’s name.
