Obituary of Shirley Zortman Cole

Shirley Evelyn Zortman Cole, age 74, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020, at her residence in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, June 28, 2020, at 7:30 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Mallonee officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on June 28, 2020 at Lea and Simmons Funeral Home. Shirley Cole was born on November 17, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Iris Louise White and Ralph Zortman. She retired from the Haywood County School System where she worked as a school bus driver, and she served as the Director of the Brownsville/Haywood County Animal Shelter. She loved animals and enjoyed swimming, horseback riding, and working crossword puzzles. She had a great love for her family, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Hank Bussey (Vicki) of Henderson, TN; one daughter, Shannon Glover (Jerry) of Brownsville, TN; one sister, Roberta Milis of Monticello, IN; and nephews, Kevin Moore and Chris Moore. She leaves a legacy of four grandchildren, Aliceson (Lane) Byrd, Karoline Hobock, Hank Bussey IV, Lewis Bussey and Jenna Johnson; three step-grandchildren, Jerry Glover, Jr. Jason Glover, Joseph Glover, and one great-grandchild, Emma Louise Byrd and five step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Zortman, her mother, Iris Louise White and one brother, David Zortman.
