Obituary of Claiborne Lee "Big Clay" Baynes

Claiborne Lee “Big Clay” Baynes, age 22, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 24, 2020, at his residence in Haywood County. Private Family Graveside Services will be held on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Trinity UMC Cemetery with Bro. Billy Elder officiating. Big Clay was born on April 22, 1998, to Lee Baynes and Tonya Sweat Zaragoza. He worked as a machine operator for Lasco at the time of his passing. He loved life, loved his family and loved his friends. He was born to enjoy the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. He is survived by his father, Lee Baynes (Christina) of Brownsville, TN; his mother, Tonya Sweat Zaragoza (Octavio) of Bells, TN; one brother, Blake Stanley of Brownsville, TN; two sisters, Morgan Baynes of Brownsville, TN and Chloe Qualls of Bells, TN; Paternal Grandparents, Jerry Baynes of Brownsville, TN and Lalia Spencer (Dan) of Jackson, TN; Maternal Grandparents, Joe Sweat of Brownsville, TN and Linda Morris (Glen) of Bells, TN. He was preceded in death by one paternal grandparent, Cheri Baynes. Pallbearers for Big Clay are Hughes Simmons, Chase Coulston, Hunter Dunger, Kyle Mansfield, Jonathan Long, Connor Stanley, Austin Bennett, and Zachary Day. Honorary Pallbearers will be Payton Walton, Hayden Baynes, Ethan Baynes and Will Barnhill. In lieu of flowers, family has requested memorials be made to Coach’s Place, 1965 Hamer Road, Dyersburg, TN 38024.
