Obituary of Billy Joe Tyson

Billy Joe Tyson, age 84, passed away with his family at his side on November 4, 2020, in Toone, TN. He was born on September 5, 1936 in Toone, TN to Elon Drayton and Ina Maie Pirtle Tyson. He graduated from Central High School in Bolivar in the Class of 1953. In September of 1955, he married Patricia Ann Pine at Rebecca Memorial Methodist Church in Memphis. TN. They were married for 65 years. He retired as the Owner/Operator of Four Seasons Pest Control, Inc. He was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church, where he has served as the Sunday School Director, and sang in the choir. He loved music and was a member of the Forest Echo Band, a gospel/country group, where he played bass and sang. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, coon hunting and horses. He was a man who had a deep love for his faith and his family. He was loved and will be missed greatly by his family. He is survived by his loving wife Pat Tyson; two sons, Randy Joe Tyson (Donna) and Rick Tyson (Mary); one daughter, Regina Lambert (Jeff); one brother, Bobby Tyson (Adah); two sisters, Hazel Simmons and Helen Harding, all of Toone, TN. He leaves a great legacy of eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, twelve step great-grandchildren, and one step great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elon Drayton Tyson and Ina Maie Pirtle Tyson; two brothers Edwin Tyson and Buddy Tyson. There are no services planned at the present time. All arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
