Obituary of Charles Beverly Scallions

Charles Beverly Scallions, age 77, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 5, 2021, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Public Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at 12:30 PM at Oakview Memorial Park in Alamo, TN with Dr. Roger Penn and Rev. Sammy Tillman officiating. Mr. Scallions was born on October 13, 1943 in Crockett County. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He worked at Sharp Electronics in Memphis for 40 years where he was a Director of the TV division. He later worked at Lewis Construction in Brownsville, TN. He loved his family and friends and will long be remembered in this area for his singing, cooking his famous fried pies, and cooking for fish frys. He enjoyed fishing (so he could have those fish frys) and watching sports. He leaves his wife of 56 years Reida Scallions of Brownsville, TN; two sons Greg Scallions of Alamo, TN, and Brett Scallions (Abby Gennett) of Los Angeles, CA; one brother, Gary Lynn Scallions (Kathy) of Frog Jump, TN and one sister-in-law, Linda Scallions of Memphis, TN. He leaves a legacy of two grandchildren, Jagger Scallions and Sawyer Scallions, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynard and Gwendolyn Scallions and one brother, Ralph Scallions. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be given to the First United Methodist Church Choir Fund or Kitchen Fund, 117 E. Franklin St., Brownsville, TN 38012. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
