Obituary of Ruth Sullivan Davis

Ruth Sullivan Davis, age 91, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 in the Bells Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, February 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN with Bro. Eddie Mallonee officiating. Visitation will be Friday, February 19, 2021, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Ruth loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a longtime member of Poplar Corner Baptist Church in Brownsville. She was employed as a clerk at Roy Drug Store. Mrs. Davis is survived by her son, Wayne Davis (Della) of Brownsville, TN; two daughters, Patricia Tippett (Danny) of Green Cove Springs, FL and Linda Gibbs (Greg) of Collierville, TN; two sisters, Dorothy Leathers, Jackson, TN, and Shirley Wallace, Brownsville, TN; five grandchildren, Lynn Tippett, Carrie Pridmore, Rob Davis, Stephanie Gibbs, Amy Gibbs and seven great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Stewart Davis; her parents, Calvin L. and Pearl B. Sullivan; one sister, Margaret Sullivan Schoffner and four brothers, Bobby Sullivan, James Sullivan, Edward Sullivan and Billy Sullivan. The family request in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 544, Brownsville, TN 38012.
