Obituary of Edward Lewis Maness, Sr.

Edward Lewis Maness, Sr. age 78, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 6:00 PM at the Brownsville Funeral Home with Bro. James Paris, officiating. Visitation for Mr. Maness will be held prior to the service on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the Brownsville Funeral Home from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. The burial will follow at a later date in Trinity Cemetery. Edward was born on September 5, 1942 to Henry Edward Maness and Ruby Maness. He worked as a plant foreman for A.O. Smith Company. He found the most joy and happiness spending time with his family. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Edward Maness and Ruby Summar Maness. He leaves a legacy of love in his wife, Dorothy and one son, Edward Lewis Maness, Jr. both of Ripley, TN; one sister, June Ann Edwards of Millington, TN and one grandchild, Kelsey Maness Barbee of Ripley, TN. The family has requested memorials in his memory be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P. O. 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. To honor his wishes, the family has chosen cremation. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Group-Brownsville Chapel.
