Obituary of Richard Lawrence Scott

Richard Lawrence Scott, age 42, passed away Monday, October 25, 2021 in the Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, October 29, 2021, at 1:00 PM in the Brownsville Funeral Home Chapel in Brownsville, TN. Burial will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 28, 2021, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Brownsville Funeral Home Chapel. Richard was born on August 10, 1979. He loved hunting, and being outdoors always made him happy. He was one who was always joking around with others. He also enjoyed landscaping. He loved his family dearly and was blessed in this life with many friends. Richard is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Scott; three sons, Andrew Scott, Jesse Scott, Dustin Sorrell; a daughter, Jackie Sorrell, (Theresa); his father, Ricky Scott; his mother, Denise Lawrence; his sister, Amanda Scott; all of Brownsville, TN, two step grandchildren, Bentley Haynes and Braxton Tasker. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thomas A. and Bessie M. Scott, his maternal grandparents, Dennis Lawrence, Jr., Shirley Lawrence and a cousin, Tracie Williams. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Lea & Simmons Funeral Home toward funeral expenses. All arrangements and services are under the direction of Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
