Obituary of Bertha Loraine Stanley

Bertha Loraine Sills Stanley, age 88, a resident of Brownsville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at AHC Crestview. Graveside Funeral Services will be Sunday, January 9, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Brownsville Memorial Gardens with burial to follow. Bro. Randy Kellough will officiate the service. Bertha was born on November 5, 1933, in Haywood County, TN to William Thomas Sills and Mary Lee Sills Massey. She worked as a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She loved the outdoors and always enjoyed getting out to ride around. She also enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and word search. She is survived by two sons, Larry Gene Stanley (Helen) of Brownsville, TN, Romus Stanley (Carolyn) of Brownsville, TN; two daughters, Eileen McChesney (Thomas Capuano) of Brownsville, TN, Laura Howard (Tony) of Stanton, TN; one brother, Lloyd Milton Sills (Linda) of Brownsville, TN. She leaves a legacy of love for 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James Stanley; her parents, William Thomas Sills and Mary Lee Byrd Sills Massey; one son, James Franklin Stanley; two brothers, Billy Ray Sills, Jerry Sills, and one grandchild, Jennifer Lynn Stanley. Pallbearers for the service are Romus Stanley, Jr., Kevin Stanley, Brent Stanley, Cody Lambert, Chad Lambert, James Dedmon, Justin Dedmon, and Trent Dedmon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Woodland Ramp Builders, 885 Woodland Church Rd., Brownsville, TN. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
