Obituary of Jay Francis Grashot

Jay Francis Grashot, age 71, a resident of Brownsville, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 1:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN with Bro. John Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Brownsville Memorial Gardens. A Visitation for Mr. Grashot will be on Friday Evening, January 14, 2022, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Jay was born on August 3, 1950, in Kalamazoo, MI to James and Gertrude Grashot. He worked for Emerson Tool & Die. He was Mason and a Shriner. He enjoyed going to church, working with leather, and in his spare time, he enjoyed coon hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Billie Grashot, to whom he was married for 42 years. Other survivors include one daughter, Tosha Ballard (John) of Memphis, TN; two step-daughters, Melissa Rushing of Brighton, TN, Cindy Heidelberg (Charles) of Milan, TN; one step-son, Greg Chandler (Lenell) of Mason, TN; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Gertrude Grashot and one sister, Beverly Ann Klinck . Pallbearers for the service are Joseph Austin, Wesley Austin, Logan Rushing, Chris Osteen, Jeremy Glover, Donald Elrod. Honorary Pallbearer will be Bobby Webb. The family has requested memorials be made to Shaw’s Chapel Baptist Church, 3772 Shaw’s Chapel Rd., Brownsville, TN 38012. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
