Obituary of Lena Smith Gray

Lena O’della Smith Gray, age 60, a resident of Jackson, TN, departed this life Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home Chapel in Brownsville, TN, with burial to follow at the Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Bells, TN. Visitation for Mrs. Gray will be on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home from 12 noon – 2:00 PM. Mrs. Gray was born on August 8, 1961, in Mark, MS to George and Mary Smith. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Gray, Sr. of Jackson, TN; four sons, Jimmy Gray, Jr. (Christie) of Jackson, TN, Jermaine Gray (Naquisha) of Savannah, TN, Jeremy Gray (Asia) of Savannah, TN, and Jamal Gray of Moscow, TN; one daughter, Mary Elrod (Michael) of Whiteville, TN; 14 grandchildren, Edward Smith, Lena Smith, Dayton Elrod, Flora Sullivan, Jimmy Gray, III, Khelani Gray, Jamarious Gray, Aubrianna Gray, Aliyah Gray Alayah Gray, Jatarious Gray, Jakia Gray, Jamaya Gray, Aubree Gray, and 3 great-grandchildren, Braelyn Smith, Austyn German, Spencer Frederick. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Edward Smith and Mary Gilbert Smith; one son, Julius Gray; three sisters, Kathy Harr, Sandra Smith and Marilyn Cannon. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Group – Brownsville Chapel.
