Samuel was the only born son to Ezell Blair (Stanton, TN) who proceeded him in death. A lot of you remember Ms. Ezell, she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all. She was a caring and giving Spirit that would love and give to anyone. She loved Stanton and the May Hill. We all love and still miss her. Her son, our father, was a man of God. He loved his children and grandchildren. He loved where he came from, his history, life’s experiences and his relationship with the lord. Our Father was a man of integrity and honesty, his wisdom, protection, support and teachings was beyond what a child could ask for. He shared so many life’s experiences and story with us all our lives. He raised us all to put God first, TRUST in the Lord, be children of integrity, independence and respect. He loved his family, he protected his family. He was our leader! He was our Daddy! Daddy was born and raised in Evansville Indiana, in 1934. He served in the United States Army for 7 years of his life. Our Father also served as a police officer for many years in Detroit Michigan. Most important, our Father served God. He became an ordained minister back in 1978 and was deeply committed to his ministry. After traveling the world and living life in many places, ministering to a great mass of people, daddy came home to Stanton back in 1982. Daddy immediately became an active member of the town of Stanton serving as county commissioner. Working along side other locals, he was dedicated to rebuilding the town he called home. Daddy joined and became a renewed member of Adams Chapel the church he remembered as a young man and where he felt loved and connected. He fellowshipped with numerous houses of worship for a while before he ventured out on his on to pastor at, Mt. Hebrew, Mt. Olive, Bartlett Chapel and finally, Reaves Chapel for a many years. Our Father was known, loved and respected by a great deal of people. Daddy had a total of 9 children. His first born Patricia (Tricia), who recently proceed him in death; Ervin (Proceeded him in death), Gary (proceeded him in death), Sam Jr. (Toejoe), Pamela (Kansas), Patrice (Florida), Timothy (Atlanta), Terron (Florida), Jarvis (Ashley), Tennessee; 13 grandkids, some great grands and a lot of loving cousins and friends. The family would also like to thank and acknowledge Mary Claybourn, on behalf of Daddy, for the love, care and support she has given him throughout the years. We will miss you Daddy, it has been a blessing to have him as our Father. We will cherish the memories, the talks, hugs and the times you made us laugh, the times you were there for us, the things you taught us, the guidance you gave us, will forever be imbedded in our lives. Thank you for being our Father. Love, Your Children
