Obituary of Carolyn Taylor Hughes

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn Taylor Hughes (Brownsville, Tennessee) who passed away on May 28, 2022, leaving many family and friends to mourn. Funeral Services for Mrs. Hughes will be conducted Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Brownsville Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Connerley officiating. Entombment will follow at the Brownsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 2022, from 10 AM – 11 AM at the Brownsville Baptist Church. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert Lewis Hughes. She is survived by her two sons, Bob Hughes (Cheryl) and Jerry Hughes (Christina) as well as her granddaughters, Cynthia Tkach (Rob) and Michelle Cashner and grandson, Taylor Charles King (Allyson) and seven great-grandchildren, Andrew Tkach, Alex Tkach, Joel Cashner, Justin Cashner, Jenna Cashner, Blakely King and Sophia King. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Mary Louise Gillespie and Dorothy Taylor and special friends Barbara and Dan Reasons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brownsville Baptist Church, 5 N. Wilson Ave., Brownsville, TN 38012 or to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
