Obituary of Clyde Caldwell Woods

Clyde Caldwell Woods, age 66, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, at his residence. Funeral Services for Mr. Woods will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 10:30 AM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN with Bro. John Banks and Pastor Mike Walker officiating. Burial will follow at the Stanton Cemetery in Stanton, TN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Clyde was born on April 24, 1956, to Ronald and Hobby Woods. He worked as a farmer. He enjoyed the Tennessee Vols, going to the beach, reading, and watching cowboy movies. He was a faithful member of Braden United Methodist Church. He loved the church and loved the people there. He found great joy in spending time with his family and one of his favorite things to do with his grandsons was to take them to check on his cows. These are cherished memories for his family. He is survived by his wife, Paige Newman Woods of Dancyville, TN; his parents, Ronald and Hobby Woods of Stanton, TN; one son, Charles Woods (Katie) of Dancyville, TN; three daughters, Mary Nelle Jones, (Michael) of Franklin, TN; Rachel Woods of Memphis, TN; and McKenzie Peeler (Huffman) of Arlington, TN; one brother, Everett Woods, Jr. (Amy) of Stanton, TN; one sister, Rhonda Dent of Bolton, MS; five grandchildren, Harrison Jones, Jack Jones, Wyatt Woods, Owen Woods, John Huffman Peeler and a host of nieces and nephews. Clyde was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Miller Dent. Pallbearers for the service will be Scott Farmer, Rett Woods, Woods Dent, Jeb Woods, Malcom McClanahan, and Gerald Woods, Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Braden United Methodist Church – Dayshore Fund, 230 Hwy 59, Mason, TN 38049. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
