Obituary of Alfred Hughes

Mr. Alfred Harris "Hallie" Hughes, age 84 passed away at his residence on Friday, July 2, 2010. Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, July 3, 2010 in Brownsville Memorial Gardens with Bro. Lonnie Robinson and Bro. Eddie Martin officiating. Entombment to follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation for the Hughes family will be Saturday, July 3, 2010 from 2:00 - 3:30 P.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife: Mrs. Mervie Hughes, Brownsville, TN; one son: Harris Hughes, Jr. (Linda), Brownsville, TN; three step-sons: Syl Dew (Gloria), San Antonio, TX, Mike Dew (Wanda) and Dennis Dew, both of Brownsville, TN; two step-daughters: Gloria Burlason (Don), Nashville, TN and Patsy Rogers (Jerry), Covington, TN; two brothers: James Hughes and Robert Lewis Hughes, both of Brownsville, TN; three sisters: Dorothy Taylor and Billie Jean Nonemaker, both of Memphis, TN and Mary Louise Gillespie, Brownsville, TN; two grandchildren: Al Hughes (Trudy) and Patrick Hughes (Gina); eleven step-grandchildren; five great- grandchildren: Harrison, Owen, Andrew, John Harris & Samuel; fifteen step-great grandchildren and one step-great great grandchild.
