Mrs. Maxine Hicks English, age 82 passed away at her home on Wednesday morning. Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 A.M., Saturday, August 7, 2010 in Brownsville Memorial Gardens with Rev. Richard Lusk and Rev. Bob Connerley officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening, August 6, 2010 from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years: William Fred English; her parents: Thomas C. Hicks and Mattie Tapp Hicks; two brothers: Thomas Eugene Hicks and William Winifred Hicks; and two sisters: Betty Hicks Duke and Barbara Hicks Gailliard. She was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class at Brownsville Baptist Church and a Past Matron of the Haywood Chapter #356 Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived her son: William Fred "Bill" English, Jr., Brownsville, TN; her daughters: Rita English Hathcock (Johnny) and Betty Anne English, both of Brownsville, TN; five grandchildren: J.P. Hathcock (Holly), Blake English, Lindsey Hathcock Ferrell (Tommy), Amy Hathcock Nighbert (Sean), and Brantley Young; and three great-grandchildren: Kendall Nighbert, Walker Nighbert, and Zach Ferrell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to The Order of the Eastern Star, Haywood Chapter #356, P.O. Box 246, Brownsville, TN 38012 or Brownsville Baptist Church, c/o Women's Ministry, 5 Wilson Ave. N., Brownsville, TN 38012.
