Ben was my friend in high school. I remember a lot of good times at his house, on the tennis courts, and in the classroom. Ben dealt with more physically than I probably realized at the time, but I never heard him complain. I am proud to have called him my friend.
I met Ben in the hospital about a year ago. we became instant friends. Both of love music and the outdoors. we could just sit around and talk. Out of the blue he would text me and i would leave work and go up and visit him. I met most of his family randomly when i was visiting. Ben would always make sure i was the one in the room to sedate him whern there was a procedure he had to have done. I was really looking forward to a long time friendship, when you meet someone and it clicks the way it did for us to be able and sit and talk about anything for long periods of time its hard to give that up! I will miss him dearly as i know everyone that knew him will. I know he is out fishing for that big brown trout or just sitting in the sun enjoying.
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Ben was a handsome young man. We will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers. I wish my Dad was still living so he could talk with you about losing a child. He and Mother were very strong when they lost Bubba. I know Daddy thought a lot of you Dr. Butler.
